Workspace members
A workspace’s members come from GitHub. Everyone can follow reviews in HeyDeer; admins also manage settings and billing. HeyDeer doesn’t charge per member.
Who is a member
For an organization, members are its active GitHub members, read live from GitHub. A personal account’s workspace has one member: the account owner.
Roles
Admins are the GitHub organization owners, the person who set up the workspace, and members an admin promotes. The role applies only in HeyDeer and doesn’t change anyone’s GitHub permissions.

Change a member’s role
In Organization settings → Members, choose Admin in a member’s role menu, even before they first sign in. The member then shows Overridden; choose Member to remove it. Select Sync with GitHub to reload the list.
GitHub organization owners are always admins. The member list needs the GitHub App’s Members permission; see GitHub app and permissions.
