Why multiple models matter
Different models can notice different problems in the same change. HeyDeer supports models from OpenAI and Anthropic across its review and verification roles, so one model’s first impression need not be the final judgment.
Model diversity can help uncover blind spots, but does not guarantee better results. Findings still need to be checked against the code, and your team decides what to merge. Compare useful findings and false positives on your own PRs.
Claude Code Review also uses multiple agents and verifies findings. Multiple agents do not necessarily mean multiple model families. This comparison concerns its hosted GitHub service, not the local /code-review command or a custom skill.
Frontier review quality
HeyDeer reviews with frontier models. Each change is examined from independent perspectives, and every finding is checked against your code before it’s posted.
Our evaluationWhat 6,000+ review runs taught us about useful feedback6,132 review runs on our own pull requests, scored on findings worth fixing, minus false positives. Why teams switch from Claude Code Review to HeyDeer
- No Team or Enterprise plan required. Free includes unlimited developers. Paid plans start at $9 a month per workspace.
- A predictable monthly plan. Credits come with your plan. Add-on credits require a purchase or an admin enabling auto-reload.
How HeyDeer reviews a pull request
HeyDeer installs as a GitHub App and reviews each pull request against the whole repository, not just the diff. It checks every finding against the code before posting it, so each comment explains what’s wrong, what it causes and an exact change you can commit.
Each review rates the pull request low, medium or high risk and reports a HeyDeer Review check you can require before merging. When you choose findings to fix, HeyDeer runs your tests in a sandbox and opens a fix pull request, and Autopilot can keep fixing and re-reviewing until the pull request is ready to merge.
Teams teach it their rules with REVIEW.md, AGENTS.md and repository checks in .agents/checks. Each check gets a reviewer of its own and runs on every pull request that changes the files it covers.
Switching from Claude Code Review to HeyDeer
You don’t have to switch at once. Install the HeyDeer GitHub App on a few repositories and run it next to Claude Code Review on the same pull requests. To keep the trial quiet, turn off the GitHub check and review comments: reviews still run, and results appear only in HeyDeer.
Compare useful findings, false positives and the time your team spends checking them, then the actual charge for the same work. Our evaluation guide includes a worksheet for this.
A REVIEW.md written for Claude Code Review works in HeyDeer as it is, and the AGENTS.md your coding agents follow is the same file HeyDeer reviews against.
