Feedback scope
Feedback scope decides which findings HeyDeer reports, based on how strongly the evidence supports each one. It filters what HeyDeer posts, not what it reviews or what the review costs.
The three scopes

| Concise | Only findings with very high confidence. Fewer comments, but some real issues may go unreported. |
| Balanced (default) | Findings with strong supporting evidence. |
| Detailed | Also findings with more uncertainty, useful on sensitive code. |
Confidence is separate from severity: a well-supported minor issue can appear under Concise, while a doubtful serious one may appear only under Detailed. Findings outside the scope aren’t posted, don’t fail the HeyDeer Review check, and don’t block automatic approval.
Set and preview the scope
Set Feedback scope in Organization settings → Review rules, under How to review, or per repository; see How settings work. New review in HeyDeer lets you choose a scope for one review.
To compare scopes, open a completed review in HeyDeer and use Preview feedback scope. It shows the findings each scope includes and changes nothing on GitHub or in your settings.
Start with Balanced, and preview other scopes on recent reviews before switching. A narrower scope hides findings but doesn’t fix their cause; see Reducing noise.
